The project, designed to be a single-story Airbnb, is located in the heart of Mérida, near Paseo de Montejo. Its name comes from its former owner, the illusionist Mago Shadak. The proposal seeks to preserve the essence of the original home, retaining elements such as the arches and floors, which preserve the memory of the place. Building on this foundation, the project offers a contemporary reinterpretation of the space, where the architecture engages with the house’s history and allows its past to remain present in everyday life. Alluding to magic, the interior is serene in the dim light, and as we approach the courtyard, it gradually brightens, leading up to the grand spectacle that amazes everyone. the courtyard—a space for contemplation, freshness, and warmth—where the ringing of the church bells from the old Santa Ana neighborhood reminds us that there are always places to live in peace and tranquility.
