Casa Ooxché is a home located in the Historic Center of Mérida, designed around the existing trees to create a constant connection between the interior and exterior, thereby giving the house a sense of rhythm. Given the characteristics of the lot—which is 7 meters wide by 70 meters long—we sought to ensure that the circulation paths were accompanied by different experiences; we played with light, changes in elevation, and different sounds. Its large windows frame the interior courtyards, allowing natural light, vegetation, and ponds to become part of each space. The combination of chukum, natural stone, and warm-toned finishes creates a serene, fresh atmosphere in harmony with its surroundings.
