Located in Mérida’s Historic Center, this home reinterprets the region’s traditional architecture through a contemporary design that prioritizes natural light, ventilation, and a connection to the outdoors. The layout is organized around courtyards and landscaped areas that link the various spaces, allowing vegetation and water features to accompany the flow of the home and impart a sense of freshness and tranquility. The materials used combine walls with light-colored finishes, natural stone, wood, and handcrafted details that evoke Yucatecan identity, creating a warm and timeless atmosphere. The large windows allow plenty of light to enter and offer views of the gardens, while the interior spaces maintain a constant connection with the landscape.
