This project is characterized by a simple façade clad in chukum, a material that adds texture, warmth, and an identity deeply rooted in the region. Located in the historic center of Mérida, this home incorporates traditional elements reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, where the chukum finishes and pasta mosaics play a fundamental role in the spatial experience. Vegetation, present in various areas of the project, creates shade, regulates temperature, and accompanies every path, becoming an essential element of the design. Taken as a whole, the house strikes a balance between tradition and modernity, where the materials, vegetation, and open spaces come together to create a cool and serene refuge within the city’s historic context.
