Located in the heart of Izamal’s historic center, a “magical town” that is home to one of Mexico’s most important monasteries, this collection of villas aims to meet the growing demand for lodging in this thriving town by offering experiences, peace, and tranquility. There are four villas connected by a central courtyard featuring a large poplar tree surrounded by water, evoking our cenotes. Two of these villas are housed in the original colonial-style mansion, which is divided into two asymmetrical sections; each section contains two bedrooms, a kitchenette, a living room, and a terrace with a pool. The other two villas are completely new; one features the same colonial style and a similar architectural layout, while the other has a more contemporary style, with large windows, double-height ceilings, and a consistent use of chukum throughout, accented by colored finishes on the floors and walls with pasta mosaics. A rooftop area was also created on the roof of the original mansion as a communal space; given its proximity, visitors can view the convent’s atrium and two Mayan pyramids from there.
